A Rainbow of Irises collection, "Pink Pastoral" by Sharon Rickert. Second issue of the series. The bradford exchange, 1995. Plate size approx. 8.5 by 6.5 inches, Oval plate. Suggested retail $50.00.
Welcome once again to the beautiful iris garden that flourishes at the rainbow's end. Tended by Iris, the goddess of purity and grace, these are the most flawless, elegant irises it will ever be your privilege to see.
Your eye wanders from one wondrous flower to the next, until suddenly, you are attracted by what appear to be two rays of golden sunlight darting past your line of sight. Realizing they're two beautiful butterflies, you follow their bobbing flight until they gently alight on what surely must be the grandest iris of all that grow in this magical place.
"Pink Pastoral" is the gorgeous second issue in artist Sharon Rickert's A Rainbow of Irises limited edition collector's plate series, devoted to one of nature's most flamboyant flowers. Ms. Rickert is a masterful floral artist, creating highly detailed works that are alive with color. Look at the richness and subtle variations of pink and white in the delicate petals of these amazing flowers. Set against a sky-blue background and contrasting with the deep green color of the surrounding leaves, these proud irises will leave you with a lasting impression of other-worldly beauty.
The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by many skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the U.S.
