The third plate in the "Games Children Play" series proves once again the artist's special gift in portraying children. It not only brings to life a favorite childhood pastime, but delights in joyous moments being shared. Despite skinned knees and elbows - our two pals will hove a wonderful time. The little girl, anxious to get rolling, the boy, reflecting on how much he can show off his skills.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Sandra Kuck was born in Ohio, but most of her childhood was spent in California. She now makes her home on beautiful Long Island. An early interest in art brought her to study fine arts at UCLA. In 1965 Sandra Kuck came to the New York area where she continued her studies and worked as a free-lance commercial artist. Early in her career Sandra Kuck began to focus on children, using various media. To quote her feelings: 'the only subjects I wish to paint are things which are alive. There is constant change in living things. Each month brings new and beautiful happenings. The colors are infinite - however, people and children in particular, change with each minute. To paint the changing face of a child is a most exciting challenge".
Sandra Kuck is the mother of two children. She uses her daughter quite frequently for a model and never tires of drawing her. She observes children constantly. Their actions are animated and their emotions are on the surface which affords the opportunity to get new insights. Sandra Kuck is dedicated to her art. She loves to work and always finds new and stimulating subjects to paint. Although she is a young woman, she feels that painting will thrill her to the end of her days.
Sandra Kucks paintings are represented in many galleries in the U.S. and are exclus- ively shown at the Garden City Gallery on Long Island. Recently two of her paintings were accepted for showing by Allied Artists of America and the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Exhibit, a great honor.
