In the lost tales of the Native American Indian, there remain fragments of a legend that speaks of a courageous seeker of truth.
In an age when a vast salt sea covered the Great Basin, this youthful brave undertook his journey into manhood. So great was his destiny that the Spirits vied with each other for the honor of becoming his totem. As they bickered for years, the yet-unnamed brave sought in vain for his guiding spirit, traveling from the painted canyons and high mesas of his home to the misty forests of the Pacific Northwest. At last the Great Manitou silenced the Spirits by choosing the brave as His own, naming him Strides-The-Earth.
Acclaimed artist Russ Docken portrays this fabled seeker with all the virile power and breathtaking glory of the austere, eternal mountain vistas that still awe us yet today. In this dramatic scene, the Manitou imbues The Seeker with an indomitable, unquenchable force of elemental masculine potency ... and Strides-The-Earth greets his destiny with all the pride and unstinting dedication of a true man and warrior in his prime during the Age of Legends.
The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
