Lords of the Forest and Canyon collection, "Mountain Majesty" by Greg Beecham. First issue in this series. Bradford Exchange, 1994. Plate size approx. 8.25 inches. Suggested retail $60.00.
High in the uninhabited wilderness of the Rocky Mountains, a cougar prowls his territory. Massive paws sink deep into the drifts of snow, but he is well-adapted to survive and even flourish in this harsh environment. Pale sunlight warms his back, glinting off the dense, snow-caked pelt with highlights like old gold coins. Lithe muscles ripple under the fur, hinting at incredible power coiled under every supple, graceful motion.
The intensity of his steady amber gaze is mesmerizing as he surveys his wintry domain, spread out below him like an Irish clan tartan of dark verdant green, pristine white, and seams of black rock. Those glistening eyes bum like twin flames set alight in a crystal chalice of vintage sherry.
The extraordinary talents of wildlife artist and dedicated conservationist Greg Beecham bring to life this compelling portrait of the North American cougar--this savage yet fascinating predator of the lofty mountain citadels.
Revere the wild beauty of this solitary, greathearted lord as his screaming roar reverberates among the windswept crags and snowy precipices in Mountain Majesty.
The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,4600 Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
