Moonlight touches the land as delicately as a fairy's magic wand. Its full radiance is gentled by a soft curtain of snowy clouds drifting in a luxurious sky of Prussian blue—a velvety shade so near to black, but warmer, softer, deeper. A loon glides over the tranquil waters, a smaller, mirrored version of the night heavens. Its moon-dappled plumage is limned by silvery radiance. A mist rises from the warm waters into the cool spring air, shimmering like a gown sewn of fine pearls and opals.

A car clatters noisily over the weather-worn covered bridge, the rattle and glaring headlights jarring the soothing quiet of night. But soon the sounds fade away.

The loon lifts her voice in a haunting nocturne as the serenity of the evening once again enfolds this tranquil countryside haven under the safe, spreading, moon-dappled wings of night.

Artist Jim Hansel takes you to this moonlit lake where the mysterious call of the loon welcomes you to its twilight beauty. Mr. Hansel's skillful interplay of light and color evokes the profound loveliness of night, and kindles a glow of serenity in your heart.

The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,4600 Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
