Exalted in the firmament, the Heavenly Mother and Child stand in the clouds. Angels surround Them like a halo, looking on in absolute adoration. But the Virgin and Baby seem oblivious of the celestial throng — their attention is wholly fixed upon one another.

This is "Adoration," Plate One in Our-Heavenly Mother by Modern master of Christian art, Hector Garrido. His inspired interpretation is presented in the exalted style of the Italian Renaissance.

Through expert use of symbolism, the scene moves the viewer with a message of never ending love. Note, for example, how Mr. Garrido's theme of circles — the symbol of no beginning, no end —helps support the central idea. The Blessed Mother's billowing veil drapes to the viewer's right, turns at Her elbow, and leads the eye around to the Child. Their adoring look for one another completes the circle. It is then echoed by the circle of angels and, finally, by the shape of the plate.

What reassurance for believers! For the Gospel assures God's children that they may expect the same kind of steadfast love from above that Jesus has for His Mother and Mary holds for Her Son.

The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the U.S., a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully recreate the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was made in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460' Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the U.S.
