Pathways of the Heart Collection -- "Harmony with Nature" by Jesse Barnes. The Bradford Exchange production 1993. This is the Fifth issue in this series. Plate size is approx 8 inches. Suggested Retail $60.00.
The glorious rays of a pale sun break through a thunderhead, illuminating a pristine lake and waterfall with their dazzling light. High in an ancient pine, a familiar owl has a box seat for this spectacular display of nature, and it seems as captivated as we are by the breathtaking light in the sky.
This is "Harmony with Nature," Plate Three in the Pathways of the Heart collection, artist Jesse Barnes's salute to the splendid diversity of nature.
Mr. Barnes, the renowned Light Painter, has placed three distinct sources of radiance in this composition: the streak of lightning, the sun, and the glow of the cabin. These wellsprings of light provide balance and offer the artist the greatest possible opportunity to employ the mastery of illumination and shadow for which his artwork is widely acclaimed.
Next to the cascading beauty of the waterfall, the cozy log home sits steadfastly between the sunlight and rain, suggesting mankind's perseverance in the midst of an often capricious nature. All in all, "Harmony with Nature" is a beautiful and compelling addition to the Pathways of the Heart collection.
The creation of the fine collectors plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was cre-ated in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craft men and craftswomen in the United States.
