It is the time of the snow moons —winter. A young brave has just returned from his Vision Quest, and now he tells elders of his Plains Indian tribe what he has experieanced and learned. We see him at viewer's left, standing, his hand raised as he dances in imitation of the great bear who has served as his spiritual guardian. And in the clouded sky, almost directly above the brave, we see a huge but benevolent vision, the spirit of the bear encountered in the Vision Quest.

As this young man emulates the ponderous, yet somehow graceful movements of the bear, the elders who have gathered to watch this ceremony remember perhaps their own introduction to their spiritual guardian when they too were young many moons ago.

In "Spiritual Guardian," Plate Two in artist Kirk Randle's Sacred Circle series, we see another Native American custom realistically depicted, a masterpiece of art which helps us further to understand these fascinating and deeply spiritual people.

The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
