Sentinels of the Sky, "Celestial Summit" by Cynthie Fisher. Third issue in the series. Bradford Exchange, 1997. Plate size approx. 8 inches. Suggested Retail $60.00.
The indigo vault of the sky arches overhead, the brilliant cascade of stars and the hypnotic radiance of the full moon bathing the snowy landscape with soft glitter. Here, high upon the summit of a lofty mountain, the spirits of the cosmos seem closer—almost as if we can reach out and touch the divine.
Three wolves lope easily over the tufted quilt of snow, perhaps called forth by some ancient, haunting command that touched a chord deep in their instinct. Their eyes glow like amber lamplight, and their breath steams in the frigid air as they await...what?
Suddenly the white fire of stars bums brighter as the ghostly image of the Wolf Spirit coalesces in the clear night sky, larger than Lady Moon. Silently they contemplate each other, communing in the mysterious fashion of wolves.
The Pack is all. The tundra, jbrests and mountains are your domain. The wind is your guide. The Caribou is your brother, for He is your purpose. And your spirits will join me on the Hunt in the Sky.
Cynthie Fisher's dramatic portrait sends us on a journey of the soul, to delve into the ancient mysteries that divide the celestial spirit with the mundane, physical world.
The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by many skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the U.S.
