Above the rolling farmland of Minnesota and Wisconsin, north of where ore boats assume their burden in Duluth and the Pigeon River meanders through hardwood and soft earth, a thin creek flows south.

Unpretentious and unremarkable, the creek has flowed uninterrupted for centuries. Babbling brightly in the summer sun and coursing bravely through winter's ice, it labors tirelessly to reach the broad waters of the Great Lakes.

Few people had ever seen this rivulet beneath fall's pumpkin-colored maples, auburn oaks, and gilded poplars. Fewer still had ever seen these waters once the silvery snow shrouded the earth.

And no one had ever before caught a glimpse of this young wolf, sobered by the quick and chilling end to the warmth of summer, as she interrupts her hunt
to take "A Moment's Pause" by these life-giving waters.

Artist Linda Daniels, however, has captured this incredible scene deep in the Northwoods. And she has painted if for you to treasure as the fifth plate in the your Timberland Secrets collection.

The creation of the tine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
