The fiery sun slowly settles over the lofty, austere peaks of Wyoming's Grand Tetons, tinting their snow-mantled shoulders with the acclaimed "purple mountain majesty" in the anthem to America.

A magnificent male bald eagle soars along the warm currents of wind that rise from the island-dappled lake and buffet the mountain crags. His curving beak, fierce golden eyes and lordly expression transform him into a proud Viking ship of yore fearlessly sailing the endless blue oceans.

Within his steel-muscled breast heats the great heart of a legendary King. Incorruptable, valiant, inspiring, this white-plumed knight is the embodiment of the strong who shelter the weak, the brave who battle oppression, and the just who show mercy in victory.

It is no wonder our Founding Fathers chose this noble Knight of the Mountains to symbolize our nation's liberty, and to carry our honor upon the mighty arch of his unfaltering wings.

Soar with the bald eagle and exalt in the emancipated glory of our nation's most majestic bird with artist James Spurlock's breathtaking image, "Spirit of Freedom."

The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
